Class A PGA professional, teaching since 1993
Jeff Copeland
- PGA of America, Class A
- Quarter Century Club
Jeff has been a Class A PGA professional for 28 years and has been teaching since 1993, which makes him a member of the PGA’s Quarter Century Club. That is a long time spent working out how to explain the same handful of things in whatever way finally makes them land for a particular person.
His emphasis is as much on how you play the course as on the swing itself, which is why the playing lesson is worth knowing about: a swing that behaves on the range and abandons you on the first tee is a different problem, and it needs a different fix.
He also follows the science of the swing and the short game closely, and he enjoys the reading: new work tends to turn up in a lesson once he is satisfied it holds up with a real golfer rather than only on paper. He is a heck of a putter himself, which is worth knowing if the strokes you are losing are the short ones.
Best for: anyone whose range game never survives contact with an actual course.
