Director of Instruction, Whispering Pines Country Club
Neil Thompson
- PGA of America, Class A
- Quarter Century Club
- PGA of Great Britain & Ireland
- TPI Level III
Neil is Director of Instruction at Whispering Pines (formerly Pine Tree) Country Club and teaches at Magic City Indoor Golf. He has been a PGA member since 2000, is a member of the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland, and has won multiple section awards across the Alabama and Northwest Florida PGA. He still competes, including in PGA Tour Champions events, which means the person watching your swing is someone who is currently putting their own under the same pressure.
Twenty-five years in the PGA makes him a member of its Quarter Century Club.
He teaches the full range, from the first grip through to tournament preparation, and uses the Swing Catalyst video and balance-plate data heavily rather than as decoration.
He is also TPI Level III certified — the top of the Titleist Performance Institute certification — which is why a first lesson with him may start with how your body moves rather than with the ball.
Best for: players who already have a handicap and want it lower.
